Asphalt Testing Equipment - Find the Problem and Fix It
When it comes to asphalt testing equipment, there are many different options. You can find equipment that can be moved from one testing site to another. You can also find equipment that is stationary and is used in a laboratory to test he materials before they are put to use. No matter which you prefer to use, there are certain pieces of equipment that are specially made for certain tests. You can test the flexibility, ductility and many other characteristics of asphalt that will determine how well it will work for many different usages such as roads, parking lots and even large towering buildings.
The first type of asphalt testing equipment you may want to invest in is a testing apparatus that is used to test ductility. Many times the construction industry will use this when testing the asphalt being used to form the structure of the building. If this type of test is not done and the asphalt does not have proper ductility, there could be cracks that form and then will cause a weakening of the structure which can be unsafe. When ductility is correctly found in asphalt there is a film which is very thin that collects around the edges and is considered to be a binder for the asphalt. This allows the structure to have movement and be flexible especially during freezing and thawing seasons.
Another important type of asphalt testing equipment is used during bridge and highway construction and is called a stability test. This type of test is the easiest of all to use and will provide the analyst with the most efficiency. With this test, the construction quality of the road made of asphalt can be tested. Upon completing the test, the analyst will be able to determine the failure rate as well. This test determines how much weight can be put on the road surface at a normal temperature. You can really get a true feel of how strong as well as how safe a road will be.
Of course, there are many more examples of asphalt testing equipment. Such as a centrifuge extractor, drilling machine and a beam that will test how flexible the asphalt is. You must determine what you need tested in order to get the right equipment. Each does a specific job and will provide you with a specific piece of information that can be helpful in determining exactly what the issue is so that you can properly fix it.
